ABOUT VELLORE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY:

It was formed in 1984 as a self-supporting institution called the Vellore Engineering College and was done so in accordance with Section 3 of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956. Vellore Engineering College received university status from the Union Ministry of Human Resources Development in 2001. Dr. G. Viswanathan, the university's founder and current chancellor, previously served as a member of parliament and a minister in the Tamil Nadu government. He received an honorary doctorate from West Virginia University in the United States in appreciation of his service to India in providing top-notch education. The Vice-Presidents are Mr. Sankar Viswanathan, Dr. Sekar Viswanathan, and Mr. G.V. Selvam; the Vice-Chancellor is Dr. Rambabu Kodali; and the Pro-Vice Chancellor I/C is Dr. Partha Sharathi Mallick.

Admission Process for VELLORE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY:

The qualifying requirements for admission to VELLORE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY are as follows.
• Go to the university's official website and select the "Research Admissions" link.
• Complete the application and send in the 900 INR application fee.
• Download a printout of the properly completed form and mail it to the university's address together with the relevant paperwork, including a letter of work experience and a research proposal.

VELLORE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY FACILITIES:
The medical facility is close to Academic Block 2. Currently, the Chettinad Medical Group is in charge of it. The 24/7 provision of medical care for all students.

Via frequent on-campus national and international conferences/symposia and workshops, our university firmly believes in exposing its students to national and international knowledge specialists. The common student "auditorium" is nothing short of amazing. It has been constructed with centralised air conditioners, Wi-Fi, a magnificent stage, and the ideal quantity of lighting, and can hold 400 students. Events and meetings are held in this auditorium. It may be found on AB1's seventh floor.
