About VEER SURENDRA SAI UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY:

The Orissa Act 9 of 2009 created the Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) Odisha by converting the University College of Engineering (UCE), Burla into a non-affiliating Unitary University. The notification was issued by the Industries Department of the Government of Odisha and went into effect on July 1st, 2009 (see Memo No. IV/TTI-33/2009-8553 and 8564 dtd.10th June 2009). The Odisha government accepted the first set of VSSUT, Burla 2010 statutes via Industry Department notice number V-FE-II-01/2010/8697 dated June 21, 2010. In a letter dated January 5, 2010, the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi, also acknowledged this State Government University. Under section 22 of the UGC Act, the University has the authority to grant degrees in accordance with the UGC's requirements.

This illustrious university bears the name of Veer Surendra Sai, a heroic Indian independence warrior who was born on January 23, 1809, gave his life in battle against the British, and passed away in obscurity on February 28, 1884, in Asirgarh Jail. Veer Surendra Sai is the ideal role model for our professionals in encouraging them to commit their lives to the cause of motherland in a University where so many young scholars have come to develop their lives. The University is still filled with pride for this unsung hero.

The early history of the university, which is located at the base of the famed Hirakud dam, is an intriguing chapter in the history of technical education in Odisha. The first engineering college, known as University Institution of Engineering (UCE), was founded on August 12th, 1956, and was located in Burla. It was a constituent college of Utkal University, located in Bhubaneswar.

VEER SURENDRA SAI UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY FACULTY:
The site has a separate dorm for boys and females with various amenities that is clean and air conditioned. The facilities are adequate, and the hostels are well-maintained by experienced wardens.

The new library is a three-story building with a 10,900 square foot space. The library's distinct levels and sections were intentionally chosen. The Circulation Section and the General E-Book Bank are located on the level ground. The Library's Journal Section, Reference Section, Reprographic Section, and Administrative Section are all located on the first floor. Textbook Section is held on the pinnacle ground. On this level, there is a study hall that can accommodate 100 college students.
