ABOUT U. P. RAJASHRI OPEN UNIVERSITY:
The U.P.Rajarshi Tandon Open University, Allahabad, was established on March 24, 1999, in accordance with Act No. 10/1999, which was approved by the U.P. Legislature and given the governor's approval. It is named after Mother India's renowned son Bharat Ratna Rajarshi Purusottam Das Tandon Ji. The University intends to provide access to higher education for significant portions of the population, with a focus on underprivileged groups and those living in remote and rural areas, including working people, homemakers, and other adults who want to advance their knowledge or build their skill set through studies.

It will even make an effort to promote the acquisition of knowledge in a society that is quickly expanding and changing, and it typically offers a chance to upgrade knowledge, education, and skills in the context of innovations, studies, and discoveries in all spheres of human activity.

The U.P. The library is currently housed in a three-story structure in the Saraswati Campus of UPRTOU at Shantipuram, Sector-F, Phaphamau, Prayagraj.

U. P. RAJASHRI OPEN UNIVERSITY FACILITY:
In 2000, the University Library was established with a small collection of 279 volumes. The Library now has collections on unique subjects in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and several developing sciences. Currently, the series comprises 44387 book volumes and 92 newly found journals, excluding five daily newspapers and 12 separate magazines.

More than 50,000 students are enrolled at the University Library, which also supports employees and students studying there. It is located across the U.P. The University Library serves as the central hub for providing library and records services to the university's students and other scholars.
