About THE GLOBAL OPEN UNIVERSITY:
The Global Open University Act 2006 (Act 3 of 2006), which received the assent of the Governor of Nagaland on August 30, 2006, and was published via Notification number Law/Act-10/2006 on September 18, 2006, was enacted by the Nagaland State Legislative Assembly. The Global Open University, Nagaland is a State University established by the Government of Nagaland. The Global Open University Act 2006's provisions were made public on September 18, 2006, in the Nagaland Official Gazette.

The 13 acres that make up TGOU Nagaland's permanent campus. The ancient capital of a ruling nation, the Dimasa, who were once a powerful and predominate race in the entire North-East India region, particularly the Brahmaputra Valley, was Dimapur, which is often referred to as the "Brick City" by European scholars and the Ahoms. Dimapur is located on the banks of the Dhansiri, originally known as Dong-siri meaning a ravine of peaceful habitation. The site offers a singularly peaceful and unpolluted intellectual atmosphere.
