About SHREE SOMNATH SANSKRIT UNIVERSITY:

Panditji Shri Naval Kishore Sharma, the university's governor and chancellor at the time, founded Shree Somnath Sanskrit University in 2005. The Shri Somnath Trust provided more than 17 acres of land for its construction. Gujarat, India is home to the public Shree Somnath Sanskrit University (SSSU).

It was established in 2005 by the Gujarat State government under the Shree Somnath Sanskrit University Act with the purpose of preserving India's cultural and linguistic legacy while also conducting research and teaching Sanskrit literary masterpieces. Seven faculties, or departments, along with 110 linked colleges, research institutions, and centerslocated throughout Gujarat are housed on the Veraval main campus.
Beginning with the academic year 2007–2008, the Veda Department was established at the university's main campus in addition to the Post-Graduate Sahitya Department, which was previously there. In the academic year 2014–15, the Post-Graduate Vyakarana, Darshana, Jyotisha, and Purana Departments were also launched in the university's main center. There are several Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate Departments in university-approved colleges, including Shitya, Jyotia, Veda, Vykaraa, NavyaVykaraa, RmnujaVednta, SwminryaVednta, SarvaDarana, NavyaNyya, Dharmastra, Purastra, and Paurohityam. At the undergraduate level, disciplines including English, computers, Hindi, Gujarati, economics, history, sociology, and psychology are taught as supplementary and required courses.

The classic poem Meghadutam by Sanskrit poet Kalidasa serves as the inspiration for the university's slogan. It expressly emphasises achieving perfection and completeness. It also expresses the ideals and goals upon which the University was founded.
