ABOUT MUNGER UNIVERSITY:
One must see to believe. Understanding is believing. And when understanding is put to use, it becomes actuality. When Chief Minister Nitish Kumar envisioned the idea of Munger University on August 16, 2016, on one of his development trips, no one anticipated it would become a reality in less than two years.
State-run Munger University was created by severing ties with Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University in Bhagalpur. Its jurisdiction spans five districts in Bihar's Munger Division: Khagaria, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, and Jamui.
Under the Bihar State Universities (Amendment) Act, 2016 (Bihar Act - 1/2017), Munger University was established on March 18, 2018, and it is currently housed in the SCIENCE BLOCK of R. D. & D. J. College in Munger, Bihar, which is practically midway between the Vikramshila Vishwavidyalaya and the ancient Nalanda ruins.

Currently, Munger University's vice chancellor is Prof. Shyama Roy. She is a proponent of building institutions and is taking steps to transform the University into a "embodiment of higher education."

The State Legislature enacted bills in 2016 pertaining to the establishment of Munger, Purnia, and Patliputra Universities, and a subsequent official gazette was released. According to the government's announcement in the Gazette, the University's creation was announced in March 2018.

Currently, Munger University is home to 17 constituent institutions, 17 associated colleges, 5 single faculty education colleges (affiliated B. Ed. colleges), and 1 affiliated law college. It has been registered in accordance with UGC and AIU Section 22.
