ABOUT INDIRA GANDHI DELHI TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY FOR WOMEN:
With a focus on engineering, technology, applied sciences, architecture, and related fields, Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) was founded by the government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi in May 2013 pursuant to Delhi Act 09 of 2012. It is a non-affiliating university that aims to facilitate and promote studies, research, technology, innovation, incubation, and extension work in emerging fields of professional education among women.

As the first engineering school exclusively for women, the former Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology (IGIT) was founded in 1998 by the Directorate of Training and Technical Education, Government of NCT of Delhi. The institution became the university's first constituent college in 2002, becoming Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha College. 

The University has shown consistent exponential growth since 2013. In four fields—computer science engineering, information technology, electronics & communications, and robotics & automation engineering—it has ongoing B.Tech. programmes. The institute launched the first M.Tech. programmes in specialised fields of technology such information security management, mobile pervasive computing, vlsi design, and robotics and automation engineering. The Ph.D. programme in a variety of fields began in 2014. The university introduced the B.Arch. Program in 2015. The University has dramatically doubled its student body in only a few short years.

The university is dedicated to generating new knowledge via research, development, and innovation in addition to offering high-quality instruction in a setting of competitive research.

300 students can be accommodated at the IGDTU hostel. On the campus of the university are these hostels. The hostel staff constantly helps to establish an environment where students can study, get along with their lecturers, and concentrate on their future careers.
