ABOUT BABASAHEB BHIMRAO AMBEDKAR UNIVERSITY:

An Act of the Parliament created the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (No. 58 of 1994). According to GOI, Ministry of HRD, Education Department Notification No. 8-16/GOI/desk/U-1 dated 05.01.1996 the University was established on 10.01.1996. The University Act and Statutes explicitly state and codify the fundamental philosophy and principles of the university. The University equips graduate and postgraduate students with the ideals and compassion needed to serve society, as well as the knowledge and abilities needed to excel as individuals and professionals. The University prides itself on being a socially conscious learning environment that values academic rigour and high-caliber research, both of which are supported by the social justice and equitable principles for which Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar fought throughout his life.

It provides the education required through various inclusive, society-oriented programmes for changing our nation in the fields of humanities and sciences, engineering, agriculture, biotechnology, business, law, education, and environmental sciences through a variety of highly regarded degree programmes that give students the freedom to pursue their intellectual and personal development. Our university's faculty members are held to the greatest standards of public trust and take their duties seriously. They also share leadership in a democratic manner.

The University works hard to achieve the goals set forth at its founding. For students from Schedule Castes and Schedule Tribes, the university reserves 50% of the seats in all programmes. University now offers 10% of seats earmarked for the Economically Weaker Section in accordance with government regulations. Additionally, universities offer cost exemptions for students from Schedule Castes and Schedule Tribes enrolled in conventional courses. Students from Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe are also given financial aid by the university to help them with their dissertation and thesis writing. Additionally, the university opened a satellite campus in Amethi in 2016.

• Both male and female students can stay in hostels at BBAU. Despite the fact that the hostels supply necessary furniture, students are not given rooms based on their preferences. Hostel living at Babasaheb Bhimriambedkar University may be quite unpleasant. Although there isn't a cooler in the summer, students should dress for the heat and humidity. The Babasaheb Bhimro Ambedkar University campus is extremely organised and has excellent amenities. You will need to be ready for some issues, though.
• Numerous hostels are offered to students on-campus. The University Boys' Hostel contains 120 roomy beds and is conveniently placed close to the South City Gate. There is enough for 400 kids. The amenities are amazing, and they include a TV room, an indoor game area.
