MText is a 2-year post-graduation course in textile which is endowed with the study of the textile industry, aspects of fashion and its history, fashion markets, garment constructions, tailoring, fashion publicity, promotion of the garment or design and many more.

The basic eligibility criteria for MText is a Bachelor’s degree in the field of textile from a recognized institute with an aggregate of 50% marks. Candidates with BSc Textile Technology, BA Textile Technology or Bachelor’s of Textile will be preferred.

Admissions to MText are either based on the candidate’s merit in bachelor’s degree or on the basis of entrance exam. Some institutes accept entrance scores such as CAT, MAT, XAT or any other equivalent exam. 

MText is offered by many top colleges in India such as NIFT, New Delhi, Pearl Academy, LISAA Institute of Design, Jain University etc. The areas covered under MText include Textile Designing, Fashion Sketching and Illustration, Fundamentals of Marketing, Indian Embroidery etc. The average course fees of MText ranges from INR 30,000 - INR 2,00,000. 

MText postgraduates get hired as Textile Manager, Textile Technologist, Textile Mill Manager etc. The most common employment areas include Fashion Industry, Clothing Lines, Textile Mills, Fabric Production Plants etc.
